What is it?

Gemba is a Japanese term defined as the actual place. In manufacturing, the shop floor is the gemba, the actual place manufacturing is completed.

What is the main goal?

Observe what is happening on the shop floor in a specific process context and then identify opportunities for waste reduction.

What should keep on mind?

A Gemba Walk is a tour of the shop floor. It has 3 key elements:
