7. BOM Creation
How to create a Bill Of Materials?
Hi! Here we will learn to create a bill of materials related to a previously added route. First to get there:
1. Click on "Modules."
2. Select "Order Management."
3. Click on "BOM & Routes."
Once you are at "BOM & Routes."
Search the route you want to create a Bill Of Materials for and click on the "Add BOM" button in front of the Route name.
This screen divided into three columns will pop up with:
- BOM Information
- Add material to Workflow
- Workflow
Let's begin with BOM Information
1. Type in a Code (It can be simple like BOM001).
2. Add a description.
Done? Great! Now into Add material to Workflow
These are the materials to be used on the route you've previously created and selected.
1. Select the material with the dropdown list.
Pro tip: Type a keyword to find it faster
2. Choose the Operation related to the material; you can also enter a keyword here.
3. And now enter the Quantity. Remember that this is the amount of material needed to produce a unit of the finished product.
Once you have filled in the required information, click on "Add material" and move on to another one.
You can always change something by clicking on the "Pencil" or deleting it with the "X"
Once we are done, we simply click on "Create BOM" and are done.
Lastly, the workflow column
Now in the workflow column, with the BOM we just create selected, we will see a detailed version of all the main information.
Finally, it is worth mentioning two things.
- There's always a search bar for easy access once you've created many routes and bills of materials.
- You can also change the BOM or routes at any time by selecting the one you want to change and clicking the edit button here.
